BOSTON, MA – Last week, IHRSA, the International Health, Racquet & Sportsclub Association released the “IHRSA Clubs Promote Good Health and Good Practice” Health Promotion E-Book, the 6th resource the association released this year to help IHRSA member clubs promote health and physical activity in their communities.

IHRSA Clubs Promote Good Health and Good Practice, an e-book free to IHRSA members, is a compilation of the top community outreach ideas shared at IHRSA 2015 by club operators who have proven success doing health promotion outreach in their communities. This e-book includes details on successful health promotion programs that have been run by a number of clubs across the country, and inspiration from leading industry experts for health clubs looking to begin a new health promotion program or expand upon one that has been offered previously.

“The benefits of health promotion programming are many,” said Amy Bantham, IHRSA’s Vice President of Government Relations and Health Promotion. “Health promotion makes you feel good about what you do and benefits your community. Health promotion is also a proven way to increase retention, boost sales, and increase profits. This new ebook acts as a resource for health club owners to learn more about and create health promotion programs that best fit their members’ needs.”

This e-book is just one in a series of resources that not only provides IHRSA members with tools to help them be more successful, but expands the number of people being active across the globe.

“These best practice e-books are very popular with our members because they offer a variety of solutions to the unique challenges that health club owners and operators regularly face,” said Alexandra Black, IHRSA’s Health Promotion Manager.

The other toolkits and ebooks recently released as a benefit of IHRSA Membership include:

  • IHRSA Clubs Give Back for the Good of the Community E-book;
  • #WhyGetActive Campaign Brief;
  • Demystifying HIPAA: How HIPAA Relates to Your Club E-book;
  • Best Practice E-book: Weight Loss;
  • Building a Health Promotion Program in Your Club: An Introductory Toolkit.

All toolkits and e-books are available free to IHRSA members at ihrsa.org/health-promotion. Member login is required.

And, for members who’d like to explore the topic further, the 2nd annual IHRSA Health Promotion and Wellness Track will take place during IHRSA 2016 in Orlando, March 21-24. Topics to be discussed include nutrition programming, fitness reimbursements in the insurance marketplace, and innovations in workplace wellness.
