Capitol Hill and Association Veteran, Jeffrey Solsby, Joins IHRSA

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Liz Clark, President and CEO of IHRSA, The Global Health & Fitness Association, announces that Jeffrey Solsby will join the group October 12 as Senior Vice President of Communications. Board members recruited Liz to join the group a year ago to help refocus its advocacy and outreach mission, modernize operations and member engagement, while continuing to maximize value and opportunity via its popular and widely attended Annual International Convention and Trade Show.
“Expanding the IHRSA team helps us move closer towards achieving the goals set by our board to enter a new era of engagement, outreach, and industry activism. Our industry is comprised of community-oriented businesses with millions of employees and customers in every corner of the country. This work helps enhance the mental and physical well-being of the public and alleviate pressure on the healthcare system, and this success arms us with a powerful and compelling message to engage with the public, media, and elected officials,” Liz said.
Solsby brings experience as a veteran staff member on Capitol Hill and in prominent trade associations. Most recently, he was senior advisor to Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA), whom he also served in a similar role in 2011-2012 during the Congressman’s tenure as Chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.
Previously, he served from 2019-2021 as Vice President of Advocacy Communications for the National Restaurant Association, from 2012-2019 as Vice President of Communications & Membership for the Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America, and from 2007-2011 as Director of Public Affairs for the American Road & Transportation Builders Association. Earlier in his career, he served for four years as press secretary to former Rep. James Rogan (R-CA).
