SAN DIEGO, CA<\/strong> – TG The Gym has partnered with the Mitchell Thorp Foundation for over 10 years, helping directly and indirectly raise over $1M to assist children suffering from life threatening diseases and disorders. The will to go deeper, a place within you\u2019ve never been before. An unexplained spiritual force where you exceed your own expectations. Taking it to another level when it\u2019s not about you. Understanding the why and purpose of the mission.<\/p>\n At 60 years old, my personal best Deadlift Rep\u2019n out my body weight, 205lbs – 20 reps. Than came along Diego & Marissa. Two very special kids fighting the greatest battle of all.<\/p>\n I strapped up and prepared to give my best. I glanced over at little Diego & Marissa. Diego gave me a big thumbs up. Marissa gave me a bright, beautiful smile. This was not about a personal best. This was about how much can I give to 2 kids I never met before. Knowing of their great battle.<\/p>\n I began the deadlift\u2026,<\/p>\n At 15 reps I begin to weaken. I felt I can get 8 more reps max. Suddenly, I\u2019m at 24 reps, I pause. I think about the challenges ahead for both Diego & Marissa and the families. In that moment, I heard my father\u2019s voice\u2026 The point of this story, the why and purpose must be greater than yourself. You can far exceed any and all expectation. This is the place where impossible becomes possible.<\/p>\n At TG, The Gym, the VIBE is different. Very different. We are not only a Gym . We are a culture of power and purpose. A conviction to strong faith, beliefs and values.<\/p>\n TG Chula Vista\u2019s \u201cEvery Rep Matters\u201d Deadlift Challenge. For every Rep you perform TG Chula donates $1 to the Mitchell Thorpe Foundation.<\/p>\n TG Founder, George Jackson, formed a very strong bond with Brad and Beth Thorp after losing their son forming The Mitchell Thorp Foundation. Raising funds for families and their children diagnosed with life threatening illnesses.<\/p>\n Together we can inspire and lift others up. Give hope when others are to about to give up. \n\u201dGo Robbie Go. You ain\u2019t done yet son\u201d I continue on, legs are fried. Again, I pause, look over to Diego & Marisa cheering and clapping. My heart and spirit roar, you got more. I continue on. Once again, I look over to the why…\u201cevery rep matters\u201d Diego & Marrissa lives matter. I nod to both, I scream out 5 more reps. I glance over again, 5 more reps. Now, at 44 reps. My legs want out, I give 3 more reps. Big TG brother Steve gets in my face, screams you promised them 5!! I get another rep. Steve screams out 1 more rep\u2026..1 more!!! Knees begin shaking. about to buckle…a final pull.<\/p>\n
