{"id":7155,"date":"2021-08-19T00:00:17","date_gmt":"2021-08-19T04:00:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.clubinsideronline.com\/news\/?p=7155"},"modified":"2021-08-24T02:01:50","modified_gmt":"2021-08-24T06:01:50","slug":"usta-names-2021-outstanding-facility-award-recipients","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.clubinsideronline.com\/news\/suppliers\/usta-names-2021-outstanding-facility-award-recipients\/","title":{"rendered":"USTA Names 2021 Outstanding Facility Award Recipients"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.clubinsideronline.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/USTA.png\" alt=\"USTA\" width=\"300\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3301\" \/>USTA<\/p>\n<p><strong>ORLANDO, FL<\/strong> &#8211; The USTA has announced that 25 tennis facilities were named winners of the USTA\u2019s annual Outstanding Facility Award, which recognizes excellence in the construction and\/or renovation of tennis facilities throughout the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGreat tennis facilities like these help us to grow the game at the grassroots level, and we are proud to recognize them for their ongoing impact on the sport of tennis,\u201d said Craig Morris, Chief Executive, Community Tennis, USTA.\u201cEach of these facilities have embraced many key tennis initiatives and kept the sport at the forefront of their community each year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>To be considered for an award, facilities must be under the jurisdiction of a park and recreation department, an educational institution, a nonprofit corporation or be a private or commercially-owned-and-operated facility that offers both USTA and public programming designed to help grow tennis.<\/p>\n<p>Facilities were judged on the following criteria: overall layout and adaptation to site; excellence of court surface and lights; ease of maintenance; accommodations for players, spectators and press\/officials; aesthetics; graphics (including the use of signs and landscaping); amenities such as casual seating for spectators, food services and social areas; and the facilities\u2019 participation in USTA programs.<\/p>\n<p>Nominated facilities were voted on in the following categories: Public Courts that are eithersmall tennis centers with 2-10 courts or large tennis centers with 11 or more courts; Private Facilities that support the USTA and other \u201cgrowth of the game\u201d programs open to the public; and Educational Institutions such as colleges, universities, public and private grade schools, middle schools, or high schools.<\/p>\n<p>All 2021 award winners will receive a wall plaque and an all-weather sign, which can be mounted at the facility. One of the award winners will earn the prestigious \u201cFeatured Facility of the Year\u201d designation and be honored as part of the USTA\u2019s Semi-Annual Meeting later this year.<\/p>\n<p>The 2021 USTA Outstanding Facility Award winners are:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Public Courts: Small Tennis Centers (2 to 10 courts)<\/strong><br \/>\nBarceloneta Tennis Academy (Barceloneta, Puerto Rico) Guam National Tennis Center (Dededo, Guam) Kinetix Tennis (Norristown, Pa.) Delray Beach Tennis Center (Delray Beach, Fla.) HCC Tennis Center (Tampa, Fla.) International Tennis Hall of Fame \/ Hall of Fame Tennis Club (Newport, R.I.) Mesa Tennis Center (Mesa, Ariz.)
