DALLAS, TX<\/strong> – Gold\u2019s Gym, one of the world\u2019s most trusted fitness authorities, was recently honored with Franchise Update Media\u2019s 2020 award for \u201cMost Innovative Use of Customer-Facing Digital Tools.\u201d Gold\u2019s Gym received this award in recognition of its response to the temporary new normal of COVID-19 with the launch of \u201cGold\u2019s Gym Anywhere,\u201d a digital platform offering various virtual fitness options for at-home exercise.<\/p>\n \u201cGold\u2019s Gym Anywhere\u201d consists of two key digital initiatives designed to help people maintain their fitness routines from the safety of their homes in light of mandated gym closures: premium access to digital personal training app GOLD\u2019S AMP\u2122 (which was made free to the U.S. and Canada through May 31) along with a free global, on-demand video workout platform featuring workouts from both celebrities and certified Gold\u2019s Gym personal trainers from around the world. In addition to making these virtual workout options available to both members and non-members alike, the brand also welcomed video workout submissions from franchise gyms around the world to be part of the on-demand workout database, which is still available for free to the public.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen we temporarily closed all of our gyms earlier this year in response to COVID-19, we realized there was not only an opportunity but a need for us to serve people around the world in a different way,\u201d said Adam Zeitsiff, President and CEO of Gold\u2019s Gym. \u201cOur goal in launching \u2018Gold\u2019s Gym Anywhere\u2019 was to ensure we could continue to support the overall physical and mental wellbeing of our global communities, which is now more important than ever. To have this initiative honored as a standout innovation from among so many great franchise programs reminds us that what we\u2019re doing matters, and it pushes us to continue innovating to give people the health and fitness resources they need during these uncertain times.\u201d<\/p>\n Since the free Gold\u2019s Gym on-demand video platform launched March 18, there have been over 350,000 video plays, and the portal now features more than 230 video workouts from Gold\u2019s Gym experts around the world. The positive reception of \u201cGold\u2019s Gym Anywhere\u201d from consumers played a major role in earning Gold\u2019s Gym its 2020 Franchise Innovation Award.<\/p>\n For this year\u2019s Franchise Update Media Innovation Awards, a jury of seven judges evaluated the innovation, objectives and results of more than 130 entrants. Franchise innovators, game-changers and disruptors competed in four categories: Marketing & Branding, Products & Services, Operations and Human Resources.
