BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y.<\/strong> and JEFFERSON VALLEY, N.Y.<\/strong> – When Club Fit Briarcliff Aquatics Director Ruth Garcia visited the Greenwich American Red Cross office on May 16th, she thought it was simply for a \u201cmeet & greet.\u201d She had no idea she would be leaving with four awards for Club Fit! Club Fit is pleased to announce both the Briarcliff Manor and Jefferson Valley locations have been awarded the \u201cGOLD LEVEL Learn-To-Swim Provider\u201d designation for 2017 and 2018.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was a very small presentation with our Territory Rep, John (Jack) Harder who did a power point presentation on different things the American Red Cross is doing to make the community a better, safer place,\u201d Ruthie explains. \u201cDuring said presentation, awards and recognition took place. To be honest, the event invite was sent out to about 36 different organizations and only Club Fit Briarcliff showed up, though a bunch RSVP\u2019d they would be attending. I\u2019m really glad we went because we ended up getting these awards, and not all locations received awards.”<\/p>\n Ruthie knows she has a great staff in place. \u201cAt Club Fit Briarcliff, we are proud to be able to make a difference in our community by hosting a thriving Learn To Swim program, where our highly qualified and trained American Red Cross Water Safety Instructors are empowered to deliver the finest swim lessons possible! We are also very excited to have such a large and dynamic crew of skilled Lifeguard Instructors so that we are able to turn out so many new lifeguards into our community making our local pools and beaches safer. Our American Red Cross training really helps to set us apart from different options in the community, and we are honored to represent The American Red Cross at Club Fit Briarcliff!\u201d<\/p>\n Club Fit JV Aquatics Director Patrick Montgomery reiterates the club\u2019s focus on safe and effective training \u201cOur swim lessons suit the needs of all ages, and needs. We can work with adults who have never learned to swim, and get them in the water to feel safe, and they can learn to swim for pleasure or exercise. Our basic common goal is to teach the safety lessons developed by the American Red Cross, starting from the age of 6 months old, up to adults. Club Fit swim programs adhere to the \u201cgold standard\u201d set by the American Red Cross. Water safety is the most important factor in any swim training program. We can also help develop skills for the future competitive or long distance swimmer.
