MIDLAND, TX<\/strong> – Crunch Fitness announced that construction is beginning for a fitness center in Midland, Texas. Located in a shopping complex, the expansive new club will be open 24\/7 and feature state-of-the-art equipment and amenities, as well as Crunch’s popular group fitness offerings.<\/p>\n Starting in January, prospective members will be able to sign up for discounted early memberships. The club’s first 500 members will receive a free t-shirt and gym bag, discounts on small group and personal training, and more.<\/p>\n Crunch Midland is taking over roughly 35,000 square feet from Kohl’s, which is downsizing.<\/p>\n The fitness center will be owned by Brian Hibbard and John Armatas, who are not new to franchising or the fitness industry. Hibbard is the president and franchisor of a 50-unit chain of businesses in another industry and, prior to developing Crunch locations, Armatas was an executive with the YMCA for nearly 20 years. <\/p>\n “We are very excited to bring a state-of-the-art facility and the Crunch brand to Midland,” said Hibbard. “We have wanted to open Crunch locations in Midland and Odessa for a while, but hadn’t been able to find the perfect space \u2013 until now. We are so pleased that we were able to beat out a long list of competitors for the Kohl’s downsizing space, which positions us exactly where we want to be in the market.
