{"id":2357,"date":"2017-03-22T02:00:37","date_gmt":"2017-03-22T07:00:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.clubinsideronline.com\/news\/?p=2357"},"modified":"2017-03-28T17:37:55","modified_gmt":"2017-03-28T22:37:55","slug":"innovation-technology-advisory-council-convened-at-ihrsa-2017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.clubinsideronline.com\/news\/ihrsa\/innovation-technology-advisory-council-convened-at-ihrsa-2017\/","title":{"rendered":"Innovation &#038; Technology Advisory Council Convened at IHRSA 2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.clubinsideronline.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/IHRSA-2017-300x179.jpg\" alt=\"IHRSA 2017\" width=\"300\" height=\"179\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1946\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.clubinsideronline.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/IHRSA-2017-300x179.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.clubinsideronline.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/IHRSA-2017-200x119.jpg 200w, http:\/\/www.clubinsideronline.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/IHRSA-2017.jpg 335w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>IHRSA 2017<\/p>\n<p><strong>BOSTON, MA<\/strong> &#8211; IHRSA convened the inaugural meeting of the Innovation &#038; Technology Advisory Council on March 10 during IHRSA 2017, IHRSA\u2019s Annual International Convention &#038; Trade Show in Los Angeles, California.<\/p>\n<p>IHRSA Chair Rasmus Ingerslev announced the formation of the council in September 2016 as a means to reach out to the technology community, within and outside of the fitness industry, to help identify important technology-related issues and trends.  <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe goal is to gather the smartest minds in and around our industry in order to ensure that all IHRSA members are \u2018in the know\u2019 in regards to how technology will impact our industry,\u201d said Ingerslev. \u201cOne issue that all council members agreed upon during the meeting is that there seems to be a wide gap of knowledge amongst club operators in the industry. Therefore, one of the immediate goals of the council will be to help IHRSA provide information and education to club operators to aid them in making sound innovation and technology decisions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The advisory council contains a diverse group of individuals representing club, supplier, and technology companies. They include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Jeff Bartee, Principal Product Manager for Network Fitness, Precor;<\/li>\n<li>Greg Cibura, CTO, Fitness Formula Clubs;<\/li>\n<li>Jeffrey Cooper, Senior Manager Business Development, Samsung;<\/li>\n<li>Samir Desai, CIO, Equinox;<\/li>\n<li>Dan Laughlin, Digital Solutions Manager &#8211; North America Technogym;<\/li>\n<li>Mike Leveque, COO, MyZone;<\/li>\n<li>Leon Rudge, Director Digital Experience ISBU, Life Fitness;<\/li>\n<li>Todd Thorson, CTO, Midtown Health;<\/li>\n<li>Al Noshirvani, Executive Chairman, Motionsoft;<\/li>\n<li>Mike Rucker, VP Technology, Active Wellness;<\/li>\n<li>Andy Smith, CEO, The Daily Burn;<\/li>\n<li>Jamie Ward, CEO and Co-Founder, PayAsUGym;<\/li>\n<li>Adam Zeitsiff, CIO, Gold\u2019s Gym.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cWe are thrilled with the response we have received from those volunteering to serve and share their immense knowledge,\u201d said Joe Moore, IHRSA\u2019s president and CEO.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to Ingerslev, IHRSA board members attending the initial meeting included incoming Board Chair Derek Gallup of New Evolution Ventures, Missy Moss of Nike Fitness Centers, Ray O\u2019Connor of Wisconsin Athletic Clubs, as well as IHRSA Board-elect members Bryan O&#8217;Rourke of Gold\u2019s Gym Houston and Integerus, and Carrie Kepple of Les Mills, New Zealand.
