PURCHASE, N.Y.<\/strong> – The USTA Foundation announces it has received a $2.7 million grant from the Chess Foundation that will help it expand its reach and impact in under-resourced communities nationwide. This transformational gift, distributed over three years, will provide the USTA Foundation with additional organizational capacity to exponentially grow its revenue and visibility, which will ultimately afford more young people the opportunity to access valuable tennis, education, and mentorship programs that can help them succeed both in sport and in life.<\/p>\n The Chess Foundation, established by the Schwab family, champions a mission closely aligned with that of the USTA Foundation. The Chess Foundation focuses its philanthropy on serving youth and senior citizens from under-resourced communities, and the USTA Foundation uses tennis and education as tools to equip young people from these communities for the challenges and opportunities of life.<\/p>\n \u201cAt the Chess Foundation, we believe in investing in organizations and programs that can truly transform lives,\u201d said Charles Schwab, Jr., chair of the Chess Foundation. \u201cThis gift reflects our confidence in the ability of the USTA Foundation to grow its revenues so that it can accelerate its important work to create opportunities for young people through tennis, education and mentorship.
