On Oct. 26, more than 75 participants gathered at La Jolla Cove for the cyclethon fundraiser, dressed in their best pirate and mermaid inspired costumes, riding solo or in a three-person relay team to raise money and empower athletes with physical disabilities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery year, this event proves the power of community and brings to life just how much can be accomplished when we rally around a shared purpose,\u201d said Shilpi Sullivan, chief marketing officer of E\u014dS Fitness. \u201cThanks to the incredible dedication of our team members, members, family and friends, E\u014dS surpassed its fundraising goal for CAF athletes this year. Empowering people of all fitness levels to take charge of their health and well-being is at the heart of everything we do, and this event continues to reignite that passion in all of us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The E\u014dS community rode side-by-side with CAF athletes at the four-and-a-half-hour cyclethon. The fundraiser concluded with a check presentation by E\u014dS Chief Executive Officer Rich Drengberg, E\u014dS Chief Operating Officer Richard Idgar, E\u014dS Chief Revenue Officer Michael Kennedy and Sullivan. E\u014dS Executive Vice President of Group Fitness Joella Hopkins, along with other members of the E\u014dS group fitness team, also presented a $2,500 grant check to CAF athlete Andrew Lalli. Lalli lost part of his leg in a motorcycle accident, and this grant provides him the resources to continue pursuing his athletic endeavors in competitive running and prove what is possible as an adaptive athlete.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith E\u014dS\u2019 support, we are uniting people through the transformative power of sports and fitness,\u201d said Kristine Entwistle, chief executive director of CAF. \u201cE\u014dS\u2019 commitment to making fitness accessible for everyone positively impacts our athletes\u2019 lives, helping them push past limits, discover new possibilities and compete at their highest level in sports they love. We are so thankful for their partnership and the community they have rallied to champion inclusion and ability at every level.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>E\u014dS\u2019 ongoing partnership with CAF supports significant advancement in the adaptive athletics community. To date, the company has raised over $550,000 to support CAF and its athletes, including helping cover the cost of adaptive equipment, training programs and competition expenses. E\u014dS has also sponsored more than 300 top-tier memberships benefitting CAF athletes as part of CAF\u2019s grant program. Athletes can access premium amenities, including indoor lap pools, cardio theaters, turf functional training areas, innovative recovery options, the latest group fitness classes and knowledgeable team members.
