Known for his deep knowledge, thoughtful leadership, and passion for helping others grow, Martin is poised to lead PTR into an exciting new era of innovation and global racquet sports education.<\/p>\n<p>Recently serving as the Director of Programming at the Miami Beach Tennis Academy, Martin\u2019s career spans decades of high-performance coaching and leadership. He began as a national coach and Director of Women\u2019s Tennis in Holland before moving to the United States, where he spent many years coaching elite juniors and professionals at Saddlebrook Resort in Wesley Chapel, FL. His players have included legends such as Pete Sampras, Jim Courier, Jennifer Capriati, Mary Pierce, and Jared Palmer.<\/p>\n<p>Martin also served as a National Coach for the USTA for over 11 years, where he developed numerous juniors who went on to succeed at the collegiate and professional levels. His international experience extends to his tenure as Director of Player Development for the Finnish Tennis Federation and his work as an author of the highly regarded Teaching Tennis Volumes I, II, and III which continue to inspire coaches worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMartin\u2019s appointment marks a new and exciting chapter for PTR,\u201d said Lynne Rolley, PTR Board Chair. \u201cHe brings tremendous experience, integrity, and vision to this role.
