This cycle, the Foundation will award nearly $175,000 in research funding and resources to 12 deserving NSCA Members. These grants reflect the Foundation\u2019s ongoing commitment to advance the science and practice of strength and conditioning through evidence-based research.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s recipients represent a diverse group of faculty and student researchers from institutions across the U.S., each contributing to the growing body of knowledge in performance, health, and tactical populations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe quality and competitiveness are increasing every year,\u201d expressed Dr. Brandon Roberts, Chair of the NSCA Foundation Grant Committee. \u201cWe are excited to support projects that reflect a broad spectrum of topics that move the field forward.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The NSCA Foundation is one of the few sources that funds research across education and experience levels \u2014 from master\u2019s degree students up to senior investigators and practitioners \u2014 as well as work in the strength and conditioning field.<\/p>\n<h3>2025 Research Grants<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Directed Research Grant:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Tunde Szivak, Barriers to Evidence-Based Practice in the Field: Evaluating Physical Training Practices and Curriculum Standards in Massachusetts Municipal Police Academies, Merrimack College*<\/p>\n<p><strong>Senior Investigator Research Grant:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Anthony Deldin, Developing a Force-Velocity Curve and Speed-Strength Velocity Zones Using Medicine Balls, Loyola University Chicago*<\/p>\n<p><strong>Young Investigator Research Grant:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Zachary Gillen, Effects of Low, Moderate, and High-Load Resistance Training on Measures of Muscle Strength, Power, Endurance, Size and Activation, Mississippi State University*<br \/>\nJennifer Kurtz, Effect of Creatine on Neurocognition and Performance Recovery Following an Ultra-Endurance Race, Appalachian State University*<\/p>\n<p><strong>Doctoral Research Grant:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Adrian Wolff, Physiological Demands of Crouched and Upright Gait for Tactical Locomotion, University of Nevada, Las Vegas*<br \/>\nErica Schafer, Assessing Total Health, Performance, and Nutritional Attributes in Female Tactical Athletes: The ATHENA Study, The University of Alabama<br \/>\nJavad Bakhsinejad, Assessments of Strength Coaches, Springfield College**<\/p>\n<p><strong>Masters Research Grant:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Kornkanok Sophonsakulrat, Exploring the Time Course of Strength and Size Adaptations to Variable Resistance Training in Women, Texas Tech University<\/p>\n<p><strong>2025 Coaching Advancement &#038; Equipment Grants<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Dr. Richard Borden Coaching Advancement Grant:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Craig Hermans<\/p>\n<p><strong>Military CSCS Support Grant:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>William \u2018Nick\u2019 Tsismanakis, U.S. Navy<\/p>\n<p><strong>DC Blocks Law Enforcement Strength Training Equipment Grant:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Coach Kurt Weinrich Jr., Jefferson County Sheriff\u2019s Office<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hammer Strength \u2013 Life Fitness Equipment Grant:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Coach Travis Osborne, Illinois Valley High School<\/p>\n<p>An asterisk (*) indicates the school is a member of the NSCA Education Recognition Program (ERP), which recognizes institutions that meet established guidelines to effectively prepare students for careers in strength and conditioning.<\/p>\n<p>Double asterisks (**) indicate the undergraduate or graduate program is accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Strength and Conditioning Accreditation (CASCE), representing the highest standard in strength and conditioning education.
