DALLAS, TX<\/strong> – Gold\u2019s Gym, a leading authority in health and fitness, has partnered with After-School All-Stars (ASAS), a national nonprofit that provides comprehensive after-school programs to keep children safe and help them succeed in school and life. As part of the Gold\u2019s Gym 50th Anniversary celebrations, the organizations have launched the \u201cGold Star Campaign\u201d to fundraise for the nonprofit founded by Arnold Schwarzenegger in 1992.<\/p>\n

Schwarzenegger, who was inducted into the esteemed Gold\u2019s Gym Hall of Fame at the August 2015 Gold\u2019s Gym Convention, spoke passionately about his long-standing relationship with both organizations as he kicked off the campaign: <\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I first came to America, Gold\u2019s Gym became my home; it was a family to me. Similarly, afterschool programs provide a home, a family to our nation\u2019s youth who would otherwise be alone afterschool during the danger hours of 3-6pm, the peak hours for juvenile crime and experimentation with drugs, alcohol, cigarettes and sex. So I\u2019m calling on my Gold\u2019s Gym family to support our nation\u2019s kids. After-school programs, like those provided by After-School All-Stars, are a wise investment for communities, but we are currently meeting only about one-third of the demand. We need philanthropists and businesses to step up, like Gold\u2019s Gym has done. I\u2019m looking forward to seeing fantastic results.\u201d<\/p>\n
