PHOENIX, AZ – EXOS-supported athletes made up 30% of the entire 2019 NFL draft, filling five picks in the top 10 and nearly half of the first two rounds.

“Our 2019 class included 37 Senior Bowl invites, 103 combine invites, and 77 athletes drafted, including 31 players in the first two rounds. We’re honored to be the trusted resource during such an important stage of their career, and we look forward to continued support at the next level,” says Trent Wilfinger, Senior Vice President of the Sports Division at EXOS.

Clelin Ferrell and Devin White were the first EXOS-supported athletes to hear their names, both in the top five. Ferrell, a defensive end from Clemson, went to the Oakland Raiders as the No. 4 pick. White, a linebacker from LSU, went to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as the No. 5 pick. Josh Allen found a new home with the Jacksonville Jaguars as the No. 7 pick, and Ed Oliver went to the Buffalo Bills as the No. 9 pick. Devin Bush sealed the top 10, going to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

It was a record year for EXOS-supported athletes in the second round with 19 picks. It started with Byron Murphy, a cornerback from Washington, going to the Arizona Cardinals and Rock Ya-Sin, a cornerback from Temple, going to the Indianapolis Colts. The next two picks were also EXOS-supported athletes: Jaawan Taylor and Deebo Samuel, heading to the Jacksonville Jaguars and the San Francisco 49ers respectively. D.K. Metcalf capped the second round with a pick by the Seattle Seahawks.

“Our 2019 NFL combine class committed to the process, took advantage of our total combine support, and dominated the NFL combine and their pro days,” said Adam Farrand, vice president of pro/elite sports at EXOS. “Our team is proud to see their hard work pay off.”

During their preparations at EXOS, they experienced daily strength, power, and speed training in addition to position-specific work. But they also committed to their nutrition plans and made time for physical therapy to ensure they could deliver top combine performances.
